This statue of musician Stevie-Ray Vaughan can be found at Auditorium Shores on the south bank of Lady Bird Lake (formerly Town Lake) in downtown Austin. I arrived at around 6:30pm to take some downtown skyline shots in great light but was slightly too late to capture the sun on the sculpture as well as the buildings. To compensate, I shot multiple exposures of the scene from a tripod the used Photomatix exposure blending mode to blend the ones with the best foreground and background exposures. A bit of rework in Lightroom yielded this result. You can find a rather more dramatic image taken from the same vantage point here.
