Grand Central Station, New York
I love Grand Central Station in New York. It's a busy, bustling hub in the centre of a busy, bustling city.
I visited after the morning rush hour so missed the heaviest traffic but I still had to do a fair bit of pedestrian avoidance as I wandered around looking for good photograph angles.
This particular shot doesn't really qualify as a good angle since it's the standard shot that just about everyone takes when they visit. I took this prior to discovering that I could get a tripod permit merely by asking the nice chap in the stationmaster's office so it was taken using a Gorillapod from the balcony partway up the stairs at one end of the concourse.

Great shot David. GCS just cries out for the HDR treatment and you’ve got it spot on. Like the movement of the folks below. I’m sure you’ll have seen Trey Ratcliff’s shot posted on his “stuckincustoms” blog a few days ago taken from similar position; if not it’s worth a look. Keep up the good work – inspirational.

Thanks Stephen. I’m an ardent follower of Trey’s blog and, frankly, seeing his picture recently reminded me that I had not yet processed my version and pushed me towards these images
