Minnesota State Capitol Dome, St. Paul

Minnesota State Capitol Dome, St. Paul

You probably noticed that things have been strangely quiet around here since late last week. On Saturday morning, as I was preparing the images for the this week's postings, my 1 year old laptop hard disk decided that it was time to give up the ghost. I have next business day repair service but, being a Saturday, that meant I didn't get the drive replaced and my backup restored until today. Thankfully, everything appears to be back to normal now although I have a couple of critical jobs needing done before Thursday so it's going to be a busy couple of days.

Talking of Thursday, one of those critical jobs is to prepare a new version of my HDR presentation to give to the CapMac Advanced Photography SIG meeting. If you are in Austin and have a couple of hours free, join us at 6:30pm in the parish hall at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection on Justin Lane. You can find more details and a map here.

Today's picture is another one from the archives and shows the dome of the rather magnificent Minnesota State Capitol building in downtown St. Paul.

Before anyone complains, I’ve already fixed the dust spots that you can see in this version of the image. I would replace it but the package I use to manage photos on the blog has a bug that messes things up if you try to replace an existing image so I’ll just have to leave my mistake here for all to see. Sorry!

Dave, I really congratulate you, I like the dramatic effect that you give to the photos, composition and processing is also admirable

Thanks, Oscar. I have several different versions of this shot but I think I like this dramatic one better than the more “normal” versions.

    Thanks, Chris!
