View from 8A - Rain Gauges

View from 8A – Rain Gauges

This picture moves a bit further east to somewhere in the eastern New Mexico or west Texas area. The landscape changes at this point, moving from the desert of the west to a less arid, more fertile area dominated by large, round irrigated fields.

Here in central Texas, we're in the middle of the longest drought in local memory - we've had effectively no rain this spring - so the different brown and green circles here reminded me of huge gauges.

Great capture, although seems odd to use a circular pattern

Dave, I really like these shots from the plane. Looks like you were busy during your flight. They turned out so clear! Nicely done!

Great shot Dave. The “disks” look like radar screens.

    Thanks, all!

Evan, they ended up clear after a lot of curve tweaking in Photoshop. I may post a couple of the originals over on the blog and a tutorial on cleaning them up since they definitely started out looking a lot different from the final versions.
