Freeport Cranes, Grand Bahama
Let's get off the ship for a while. One of our stops was Freeport, Grand Bahama. This city was set up as a tax free zone in the mid 1950s and its success is pretty evident from the size of the port and the amount of marine traffic in the area. In addition to a large container handling facility, it is also home to several large dry docks used to refurbish sizeable ships.
These cranes sit near the container port and I loved the dramatic clouds behind them as we left Grand Bahama that day.
