Texas Football

Texas Football

Nikki and I attended the opening UT football game of the season last night at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium with a small group (about 101,000) friends. This time I was limited to the gear that the ticket allows ordinary fans to bring into the stadium so I took along the D700 and a 50mm lens (no long lenses are allowed though, oddly enough, the guy walking in behind me had a large, white 70-200mm f/2.8L attached to his Canon and no-one batted an eyelid. Maybe I'll try the same next time?). I planned to shoot a panorama of the stadium and you can see the final 100MP image over on Flickr.

Since this blog isn't set up to show panoramic images well, here's another shot from the evening's entertainment that I thought did a pretty good job of getting the "Texas" message across.
