Frosted Conifer Branch
All the recent news of snowy weather leaves me looking for winter pictures in the archive. Here's an image taken at Bryce Canyon last February on a particularly cold, still morning. A couple of lone conifers sitting on the edge of a large snowfield were completely covered in large ice crystals which looked spectacular in front of a clear, blue sky.
In case anyone is wondering, this picture is straight out of the camera with no processing other than some sharpening.

Simply beautiful, Dave. I love how jagged the frost appears to be on the conifer.
And you are certainly correct – it works wonders against a blue sky,
