Stairs, Holly Street Power Plant, Austin
This one is for Bob Lussier, an outstanding HDR photographer known for his love of dusty staircases.
During our visit to the power plant yesterday, I spent a fair bit of time trying to find a good angle to capture the stairs that climbed up the outside of the boiler buildings. I wanted something dramatic with loads of lines I could warp with a fisheye but, in the end, I had to settle for this partly because I didn't find anything better but mostly because I'm sure the better angles were from the top and, frankly, being 7 stories up with a collection of floors made of nothing but see-through metal grating scared the willies out of me.
